Social media or media, in general, is majorly responsible for influencing teenagers and youth. This is the age when you are more reactive and believe in whatever is shown to you. You get influenced not just by what the media is showing to you but what celebrities are preaching. You believe them and accept that as the final truth. That makes you think that you are aware, happening and cool. It also makes you appear knowledgeable that helps you to stand out on multiple discussions among your friend circle.

There was a time when we used to choose what we wanted to see. Slowly, we entered into a vicious circle where we no longer had the choice to decide. The media started dictating the narrative and showing what they wanted us to believe. Starting as a social responsibility, this has now become a business or a money game in which with the help of money, some rich people had the power to choose and influence the readers and viewers which was initially only a PR activity. Now, all media channels and celebrities together create a fake narrative in front of you without any logic and make you believe in that.

I have many examples of such scenarios, whether it is to praise a particular Chief Minister or shifting all blame to one Prime Minister; they are expert in it. Their tweets and posts are synchronised. Moreover, they don’t talk about facts only narratives. Also, they have a habit of comparing two completely different things. They are also expert in changing their stances on multiple occasions. Abusing, disrespecting people is also a part of these influencers/celebrities.

Whether it’s about completely ignoring the crisis in Maharashtra and Kerala due to COVID from the past year to putting their entire focus on UP foreseeing the next year election. Whether it’s about completely ignoring the violence in Bengal or even in Maharashtra, arresting social media handles and suspending them to focusing on a narrative of fascist Modi where you daily abuse him or his followers, their hypocrisy has no ends.

There is a due process in place to feed the people with a narrative that has no logical facts. Dehumanizing the supporters of a political party is one. Calling them bhakts, cow piss drinkers, sanghis; there are not enough words left that they have not used to abuse. They are those people who have always helped their fellow human, who have never hit any animal forget hitting a person, however, they still managed to dehumanize them? They don’t even feel small guilt in wishing death for them just for having a different political ideology. Laughing on someone’s death who left two young daughters alone and no sadness or guilt feeling tells us how inhuman or cruel they are! They also dare to compare a normal human who has not even hurt anyone with that of a terrorist. Few actors do that by spreading venom by their tweets. Hating and killing someone are two separate things and they don’t even feel ashamed to even compare the two.

Hate is a feeling or emotion that comes from anger. To take any action based on this feeling is a secondary thing that decides who we are as a person. Because of this hate, when people wish someone to die or kill them are not humans but worse than animals. Some people have reached that low level. The sad part is the justification of those by media houses or journalists/ influencers.

Money is the supreme power and that is the driving factor in choosing what should be shown to Indian people. The young Indians are falling into it without realizing the truth which is far away from reality. The better they understand, the better they can save India from falling into a deep hole of degradation of this country.
