The Soldiers who can’t complain
The AC temp at the office was low today
I went to the facilities and complained
They work in a freezing cold climate
And also under the hot sun in a summer season
But they can’t even complain
When I travel on two-wheeler during office hours
The traffic is at its peak and it almost takes an hour
My body aches and I complain at the infrastructure
They walk in the forests, deserts and on the unseen roads
With no surety of reaching their desired destination
But they can’t even complain
While sitting and writing codes for a long time
Gave me a frozen shoulder
And I complained to my doctor
They receive a bullet on their shoulders
And they can’t even complain
My boss asked me to work on a weekend
And for that, I had to cancel my plan
of going out with my family
My spouse and children complained to me
they work on Sundays and during every festival
But Their family can’t even complain
I work overtime sometimes
And still, I complain
They work 24*7 everyday
And they can’t even complain
I work for another country and help their people
They work and protect their own countrymen
The irony is that the people like us still say
That they are just doing their jobs as we do
A comparison is what irks me
Where we have the right to complain
And they don’t
People like us keep on taking them for granted
And don’t feel a sense of gratitude towards them
And still after protecting those ungrateful countrymen
Still, they don’t even complain.
